Immature Stages of Vespidae

Detailed information on immature stages of Vespidae is being acquired.  However, the adults tend all immature stages, and their predatory or parasitic function comes after being placed in the vicinity of the host by their parents.  In Vespa arctica Roh, Wheeler & Taylor (1921) found social parasitism in the nest of Vespa diabolica Sauss, and the brood was reared by the workers of the latter.
